Info : MAKEUP Cosmetic Storage ; Keji and Vueset

The best storage options for Makeup!! { Organisation & Storage }

Hi everyone!

I have suddenly went on a crazy phase of buying SO MUCH MAKE UP (esp. foundation).
I live in an apartment so have very limited space and had to find a solution. Not only that, I had a holiday planned in a month and I went into panic! I couldn't take everything but at the same time I couldn't leave a whole lot as I was going for a good 3 months. I had been searching online for many storage option at home and the BEST option for just all time storage was the drawers from Office Works.

A) Keji 4 or 5 Drawer Desktop File AU $16.95

There are a few colours but I think this is the best as you can see what's in it. It comes with labelling sticky tabs so you can divide what each level contains.
ITS CHEAP and STRONG.
I chose the 4 drawers instead of the 5 drawers as i needed one drawer with a deep section for my creams and beauty blenders etc.
I also leave my sunscreens and finishing sprays (anything long that needs to be standing) on top of this. It's very sturdy and I am so happy there is this storage option in Australia that I can afford!

Have a look at:

Next one is storage for traveling

B) Vueset $14 - $18 each!

Now, YOU HAVE TO TRY THIS PRODUCT!
I first saw a Vueset product on youtube; "Tahiti" 24 well storage case on GossMakeUpArtist.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4y0obOyrnWA

At first I thought nothing of it. I had quite a few lipsticks but i was no makeup artist. But as my makeup collection grew I slowly searched online what options were available.
There are quite a few products out there but this is the only one YOU CAN MICROWAVE!!!
I looked through their website and found they had a vast range of great products.

http://www.vueset.com

I had to know more. I then went on youtube again. There weren't many videos' or reviews on this Vueset so I had to try it out.

Here is another video that made me want Vueset.

I looked around the internet and found a website that posts to Australia but they only had two or three products and most were out of stock.

https://www.makeupandglow.com.au/manufacturers.php?manufacturerid=115

I contacted the US website directly and Ms Brenda Green got to me :)
She got to me really quickly and she was lovely. I bought quite a few things and changed my mind so many times (Must have been such a pain) but she was so helpful and very patient.
She sent it very quickly. I was expecting it to arrive in a month but I received it in 2-3 weeks!!

It came in a parcel as above.
(I had to cover my details)

When I opened it it was again wrapped in green paper with a cute star sticker!
So cute^^

Ta-da!!
It was all tapped together with lots and lots of tape:)

I cut the tape and as you can see they are ALL individually wrapped with plastic.
So overall it is wrapped 4 times before postage!!!
Talk about best service~

Now here are the products

#1 "Taxi" - 5 sections

It has five wells.
It is deeper than the normal Vueset products
I have used one for bits and bobs like cotton buds, elastic bands, band aids and medicines like panadol and nurofen etc.
I used the other for my foundations.

The Pros:
Its the best storage for bits and bobs- it's thicker to accommodate this.
I keep it in my bag and it organises everything into sections.
It's very strong so it won't break in my bag.
I've used it for a couple of months now and there's no sign of wear.
It's also the BEST storage for cream foundations and BB creams; (wells 4 and 5 of the above photo). Cream foundations are sold in those HUGE HEAVY glass pots and that's a big no no for travelling as it adds to the bag weight. You can take 5 different BB creams or cream foundations along with you:)

The Cons:
I stored LIQUID foundation in one of the wells.
The Vueset advertising video claimed liquids don't move from one well to the next but I found liquid foundations leaked in. (If you could see in the photo above the edges of the second well are quite dirty. I tried to wipe it but it's a waste of foundation so I just leave it. I nearly used all of it. Next time i will only fill it with cream foundations and BB creams.)

#2 "Viking Jack"-12 sections

Here I have filled it with SAVVY cream bronzer, cream blushers and cream highlighter on the top line.
The Third line has my drug store cream eyeshadows:)
(it's not in this photo but I have filled the middle line with more cream eyeshadows and a concealer.)

Here are my Graftobian foundations and concealer and some colour corrector on the bottom line.

The Pros:
It's a decent size for all sorts of things.
Your makeup foundation brush could fit in the wells so it is very convenient.

The Cons:
There is nothing bad to say about this really.
If I could do the bottom one again, I wish it was 5 by 3 wells instead of the 4 by 3
(any smaller would mean my makeup brush would not fit).

#3 "Tahiti"-24 sections

 (side angle view)

Here are my lipsticks, lip liners, lip glosses
I have de-potted my lipsticks into two.
One for me to carry in my bag, one to keep at home with my other makeup.

I knew I would buy more lipstick in future so I put two lipsticks in one well but I did not realise what this would lead to.... I will explain a little bit later.
After de-potting all my lipstick I put it in the microwave and put it on low heat and it didn't do anything even for up to 3 minutes. (I did everything in 20-30 second intervals at a time- this was the advice on all the videos). So I put it on medium heat for 30 second intervals until most of them melted.
My first batch half-failed and here is what happened. All lipsticks have a different consistancy and even in the same brand they all have different melting times.
As you can see in the top third well AND the top seventh well
two lipsticks have mixed into one. (it just seems like one colour) One of the lipsticks in that well melted really fast and started to boil by the time the other lipsticks even started to melt. That one started to bubble and burst into the other sections. I had to quickly hold what I was doing.
Nevertheless it was all good. I took this into consideration on my second batch and took that particular lipstick out before I put it in the microwave.

I waited till everything cooled down and put in some pawpaw ointment, zinc paste, lip balm and some lip glosses in the bottom line^^

As you can see it is so lovely^^

This is the back.
I have stuck the stickers of each lipstick at the back so I know what is in which well:)

The Pros:
Out of all the Vueset products this is the BEST by far. I bought three and gave one to my mum as a gift. I did all the de-potting for her too and SHE LOVES IT!
You can see all the colours at once so you can make an immediate decision on which colour to put on.
One of the biggest hassles before I bought this was putting one colour on before I go out and forgetting to take the same colour lipstick with me. I put on lipstick nearly every hour and it would always end up being the same lipstick that lived in my bag that I put on for the rest of the day.
Another thing that I found was that lipstick takes up SO MUCH SPACE. I can't carry 5 or six lipsticks in my makeup bag all the time because of course I need space for other things.
With Vueset Tahiti I never have these problems.

Every time I take this out to put on lipstick my friends would be amazed and ask about it! It would make a REALLY nice gift if you were to choose one of all Vueset products.

Common ladies, if you are someone reading this blog you know this is something you need:)

The Cons:
Again I wouldn't put liquids in here unless you are not carrying it around as they tend to leak. They don't leak as much as the liquid foundations but you don't want to risk ruining your lovely bag with a hot red lipgloss stain;)

There is nothing bad to say.
This is the only makeup holder out there you can microwave!
Once you microwave your babies in this, it is like new~~~~~~~~

ONE NOTE:
Each well are supposed to hold ONE WHOLE LIPSTICK. But between brands there are slight variances. I found some of my cheaper lipsticks were longer and had more product. When you are putting these through the microwave make sure you don't fill them to the top! As they melt, it will over flow!!! So leave at least a millimetre room from the top (better if you have more room but lets face it, you don't want bits of lipstick left. It defeats the purpose of de-potting).
The lipstick I had left I put all on a small plate and used it up each morning. What else you could do is put the excess in one well and mix it all up! (Think about the colours here and make sure you are mixing similar colours together.)

#4 "Disco Prima"

This one is great if you are going away for a night at a friend's house!
I put in foundation and BB cream in the top wells,
some lipsticks, concealers and cream eyeshadows in the bottom wells
(I pressed in powder eyeshadow at first....and dropped it......and it died....went into dust and ruined it.
So I just cleaned it up and replaced it with cream shadows. No chipping or flaking after that! haha)
In the left BiG compartment I put in my eyeliners, lipliners, false lashes, any sort of palettes etc^^

The Pros:
It has different sizes so can carry different things at once!

The Cons:
I wish this was a bit deeper like Taxi so that it can carry my compact and mascaras.
It is thick enough to hold some eyeshadow palettes but not enough to hold the thicker sort of palettes.
I hope Vueset releases a product that is like this but thicker.

#5 "Star Nova"

This is one that can carry everything~ again.

The Pros:
Compared to Disco Prima this product holds a lot more.

The Cons:
AGAIN I wish this was a bit deeper like Taxi so that it can carry my compact and mascaras.
I can't believe it doesn't hold Mascara T0T~~~~~~
Mascara is a must have but it won't fit.

This is some of what I have done:)
I only brought these to my holiday and another small case with mascara and compacts
I have been using these for a couple of months now.

I store them in the bathroom table like this. (It's just in a box I received when I bought my LG phone many many years ago)
It takes up practically no space!!
Some I keep in my bag.

I recommend it to all my friends and family.
I think it's a great product and positive that anyone else would be too^^

Please note that this is my own blog.
I was not paid or sponsored to do a review.
It was not done as a favour.
I paid my own money to buy these products^^
