SEALY POSTUREPEDIC Aspire Collection

Getting a SEALY POSTUREPEDIC BED in the Aspire Range.

My current bed is a Queen size which takes up so much room in my small city apartment.
I have thought about changing my bed to a double size.
I went into the sealy website and did the "bed selector" about 5 times.
I was still confused.

I then spoke to mum and because expensive beds like Sealy will last for 20 years I changed my mind to getting a Queen size instead. It is a better size for men to sleep in as a double is quite short too.

Okay

My first visit to David Jones to look for a bed.
There were Sealy, Sleep Maker and all sorts of brands and I didn't really know what was going on.
I tried lying down on a few and was shocked at the prices.
Pretty much what I got out of that session was that
the comfort and quality correlated to the price tag.

The next thing I did was ask my work colleagues what bed they had.
Recently a lovely lady had bought a bed and I asked her where she went and what they bought.
She recommended the Sealy brand and to try out different shops to get good deals.

I went to the Brisbane City Myers ...never knew they had a bed section.
There is a lady at the Brisbane City Myer Centre named Amelia who is very good at explaining what is going on and the differences.
She doesn't stress you out and ask you every 5 minutes if you have made up your mind.
It was a really pleasant experience. She tells you about good deals and really tries to help you.
There was a lady in David Jones where I ended up leaving as fast as I could on my first visit that same day. I felt like she just wanted to make a sale.

After laying down and feeling the beds and being educated on beds
I felt like I had come half way to making my decision.

SEALY POSTUREPEDIC Aspire Collection

Now... this is in the "entry" level Sealy collection.
The ensemble for the Queen size ranges from mid-$2000 to high-$3000 (Original Price)

Every shop has their own range of "Aspire" beds.
The Myer has "Serenity" "Tranquility" "Haven" etc
whereas David Jones has "Galloway" "Bishop" "Ferron" etc.

I contacted Sealy to ask what the differences are and why@_@ is there a different names ???

So what this means is every shop has their own range of "Aspire" beds.
They differ in the materials they use within and exterior of the mattress.
(e.g. wool or the other cheap stuff, the materials for the covering, etc)

PLEASE NOTE YOU WILL
NEVER
PAY ORIGINAL PRICE FOR A BED!!!!

According to Amelia the price starts at 40% off when the sales are not on.
The current sale (June) is 45% off + free delivery.
Sometimes they do a one day deal with an extra 10% off! + free delivery + free dumping of the old mattress.
So....you need to be very tactful in how you want to do this.

I went to David Jones again before I made a decision.
I met a man named Mark. He helped me look at the beds.
He was easy to talk to and he pointed me into the right direction.
I tried the Galloway bed for a good 10 minutes
but I knew that I wanted the SERENITY PLUSH from Myer.
It just feels different for some reason.
Maybe it is the fabric?
Maybe due to the Plush?
The price of the Galloway was $1445 after 50% off RRP for this week only.
wow.... for a queen ensemble that is a really good price.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

TIP!!!!

Now David Jones Bases ($1000 RRP)
are $50  more expensive than at Myer centre ($950 RRP)

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

BUT if you don't mind mixing the base with the mattress you can save money!:

If you have an entertainment book you can get 10% further off the current sale (45% off)
So if it is $950 RRP at david jones for the BASE ONLY
after 45% off it would be $522.50
after further 10% off it would be $470.25
(compared to 45% off $950 at myer is $522)

At the moment David jones is having 50% off the "Aspire Galloway"
So if it is $950 RRP for the BASE ONLY
after 50% off it would be $475
after further 10% off it would be $427.50!!
Saving about $100 on a base.

I really like the Aspire Collection Serenity Plush Ensemble.
It has a firm back support with a plush top for comfort.
If you are a person who sleeps on one's side, recommend the plush!
If you are a really large person not so much the plush.
I am used to a firm bed but I sleep on my side,
am a small build and never suffered back problems all my life.
You don't sink in although there is a soft top.

I am 80% there of choosing my bed.
$1300 for the Galloway firm
(after the 50% off at David Jones + 10% off with the Entertainment book card -this week only)

or wait for better deals on the $1999 Serenity Plush
(after the 45% off at Myer)

$700 never seemed so big....

.....I have till Sunday to think about it but I think I want the Serenity more.
